The 2024 MTV VMAs were set to air on Tuesday, September 10. However, the awards show is changing dates. After MTV scheduled its annual awards show, the debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump was scheduled for September 10. MTV does not want to air the VMAs during the debate.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 2024 MTV VMAs will air on Wednesday, September 11. While the day has changed other details surrounding the event stayed the same. The event will still air live on MTV at 8 p.m. ET/PT. It will take place at the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York.

ABC revealed the day and time of the presidential debate last week. Before that, many wondered if the debate would take place. The former President initially seemed reluctant to take part in the previously agreed-upon debate due to President Biden dropping out of the race.
