Already creating a promising career in the music industry, Post Malone looked to take on a new challenge when he set his eyes on country music. With stars like Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll ushering in a new era of country music, many artists like Beyonce looked to add their mark on the genre. Just a few months ago, Beyonce made her entrance into country music with the hit album Cowboy Carter. And on August 16th, Malone followed Beyonce with his F-1 Trillion album. Already gaining praise from fans, it seems the album also took over the Billboard 200 charts in its first week.

Looking at the data presented by Billboard, in the first week of its release, F-1 Trillion earned 250,000 units. While celebrating his entrance into country music, the album became the second-largest debut in 2024. Malone only earned a little over half of the 407,000 units Cowboy Carter brought for Beyonce.

Post Malone Shares Where His Love For Music Started

Besides releasing his debut album, Malone loved the process of recording the album as he worked alongside stars like Chris Stapleton, Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton, and Morgan Wallen.

While his first country album, Malone revealed he wrote country songs when he was a child. Speaking with Apple Music, he said, “Even when I was a kid, whenever I was playing and recording myself and stuff, I would just write Hank Sr. songs, just in that vein, because all I had was Audacity, the free recording thing and I would just sit on my bed and write these songs. I have no idea, I don’t know what ‘My Son Calls Another Man,’ I don’t know what that’s about, but I’d write it about the girl from science class or whatever.”

Malone’s love for music also stemmed from his father becoming a wedding DJ. With a wide range of music, Malone noted, “My Dad would wedding DJ and play DMX… He was killer too. He had to do actual records.” The singer continued, “He just loved music. He loves Brad [Paisley] and Tim [McGraw]. And my Mom was super into the old Hank and George [Strait] and Conway [Twitty] and all that stuff, but my Dad liked a lot of the… So did my Mom, but the nineties stuff, and he loved rap and metal and everything, so it was just kind of a mishmash of music.”

With the release of F-1 Trillion, Malone continues to expand his career not just in country music, but in the entire industry.
