Lainey Wilson Announces Special Limited-Edition Download of ‘Whirlwind’ Featuring Demo Recordings Available for One Day Only

Last Friday (August 23), Lainey Wilson released her highly-anticipated album Whirlwind. The 14-track album introduced some new sides of Wilson as an artist. It contains some of her first love songs, inspired by Devlin “Duck” Hodges. It also sees her celebrating country music as a whole and giving a nod to one of the genre’s greats in the opening track. Now, she’s giving her fans a chance to hear four of those songs in their rawest form.

After waiting for months, Wilson’s fans were over the moon with Whirlwind. Some couldn’t imagine how the release could have been better. The “Country’s Cool Again” singer proved that it was possible this morning.

Earlier today, Wilson took to social media to announce Whirlwind: Worktapes. The limited-time digital download will be available until 11:59 P.M. EST tonight (August 26). The digital download features all 14 tracks from Whirlwind including the work tapes for four songs. Those who jump on the deal will get to hear raw versions of “Keep Up with Jones,” “Ring Finger,” “Devil Don’t Go There,” and “Whiskey Colored Crayon.”

“Whirlwind: Worktapes—the digital download of my album plus four exclusive worktapes—is available now until 11:59 pm ET tonight,” she began in the post’s caption. “One of my favorite places to be is in a room with songwriters. I’m bringing y’all back into the room with me and my cowriters the day these songs were born,” she added.

Wilson continued, writing, “For a limited time, y’all can download my entire Whirlwind album including the demos for ‘Keep Up With Jones,’ ‘Whiskey Colored Crayon,’ ‘Devil Don’t Go There,’ and ‘Ring Finger.’” She also sent a special shout-out to her co-writers that appear on the demo versions of the songs.

“Keep Up with Jones” and “Whiskey Colored Crayon” feature co-writers Josh Kear and Wyatt McCubbin singing alongside Wilson. “Devil Don’t Go There” features Abram Dean, Joe Fox, and Lance Miller alongside Wilson. “Ring Finger” features Aaron Raitiere, Jon Decious, and Marti Dodson.
