    Mötley Crüe to Mark ‘Dr. Feelgood’ Album’s 35th Anniversary with Deluxe Box Sets

    Here’s some news that should make Mötley Crüe fans feel really good! The glam-metal greats will celebrate the 35th anniversary of their chart-topping 1989 album Dr. Feelgood with a deluxe reissue that’s due out on November 22. The Dr. Feelgood reissue will be available in multiple formats and configurations, including three-disc CD and vinyl-LP box sets.

    Both box sets will feature a remastered version of Dr. Feelgood, as well as bonus demos and live tracks. The collections also will include a 24-page replica tour book boasting previously unseen concert photos and behind-the-scenes pics. In addition, the deluxe packages will feature various memorabilia items, including a replica Dr. Feelgood Tour itinerary, poster, guitar pick, patch, backstage pass, medical envelope, and more. The LPs included in the vinyl box sets will be pressed on green-and-black vinyl.

    The Dr. Feelgood reissue, including bonus tracks, also will be available via digital formats and streaming services. Several exclusive colored-vinyl variants of the remastered album will be sold at independent record shops, Walmart, Amazon, Target, and Urban Outfitters. Walmart also will be selling an exclusive CD version of the Dr. Feelgood reissue featuring 3-D covert art, as well as a standard CD. All version of the reissue will feature reimagined cover art depicting the original image aged 35 years.

    Meanwhile, Mötley Crüe’s recently launched virtual museum, the Crüeseum, will be offering an expansive profile of Dr. Feelgood.

    Dr. Feelgood is Mötley Crüe’s most successful album. Released in August 1989, the record spent two weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 chart that October. Dr. Feelgood featured four singles that reached the Top 30 of the Billboard Hot 100. They were the title track, which peaked at No. 6, “Kickstart My Heart” (No. 27), the power ballad “Without You” (No. 8), and “Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)” (No. 19).

    Some famous guest artists contributed backing vocals to select tracks on the album. Steven Tyler, Bryan Adams, and Night Ranger’s Jack Blades sang on “Same Ol’ Situation (S.O.S.)” and “Sticky Sweet,” and Cheap Trick’s Robin Zander and Rick Nielsen lent their vocal talents to “She Goes Down.”

    Dr. Feelgood went on to be certified six-times Platinum by the RIAA for sales of more than 6 million copies in the U.S.

    About the Deluxe Dr. Feelgood Reissue’s Bonus Tracks

    The box sets and deluxe digital versions of the Dr. Feelgood reissue feature five bonus demos and five live cuts. The demos include versions of the album cuts “Dr. Feelgood,” “Kickstart My Heart,” “Time for Change,” “Without You,” and the non-album track “Get It for Free.” The live performances are “Dr. Feelgood,” “Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away),” “Without You,” “Kickstart My Heart,” and “Same Ol’ Situation.”

    New Mötley Crüe EP Due Out Soon

    As previously, Mötley Crüe will release a new EP, Cancelled, featuring the group’s three latest tracks, on October 4. The EP includes the brand-new title track and the recently released singles “Dogs of War” and the Crüe’s cover of the Beastie Boys classic “Fight for Your Right.” You can pre-order Cancelled now.

    Upcoming Mötley Crüe Concert Plans

    Mötley Crüe currently have three confirmed concerts left on their 2024 tour schedule. The veteran rockers will be playing a September 26 headlining show in Hollywood, Florida, followed by a September 28 performance at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky, and an October 13 appearance at the Aftershock fest in Sacramento, California.
