    Amherst County, Virginia missing teen girls miraculously found safe after frantic nighttime search

    Two girls reported as missing in Amherst County, Virginia, have been found safe.

    The girls – Aubrey Moss, 15, and Malorie Moss, 13 – were reported missing early Monday by their family . Just a few hours later, the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office announced the girls had been found and were safe.

    The girls had been missing since Sunday. They were last seen at approximately 10 p.m. on July 28, according to the sheriff’s office.

    It’s still unclear if the girls left on their own and where they were found. In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office thanked the community for helping to find the girls.

    It read: “Sheriff Ayers would like to thank the men and women of this department who have worked diligently on this incident and followed up on the tips that were called in.

    “We'd also like to thank our community members for assisting us with information and helping us find the girls.”
