Team Colorado Sweeps Kansas Schools in TBT
For the third straight night, Team Colorado knocked off an in-state favorite with an 84-81 victory over Mass Street in the Wichita Regional final of the TBT at Charles Koch Arena Wednesday night. The former Jayhawks trailed by 11 in the second quarter but hit all seven of their threes in the third quarter. Mass Street went ice cold in the Elam Ending and missed their last eight shots of the game on the way to defeat. Team Colorado advances in the $1 million winner-take-all tournament after beating K-State squad Purple Reign in the first round, stunning the AfterShocks of Wichita State alumni in the second round and then triumphing over Mass Street. Manhattan Gemstone Dealer Charged for Diamond Fraud
Manhattan-based diamond dealer Manashe Sezanayev has been indicted Thursday (July 25) for alleged fraudulent practices against fellow jewelry merchants. The Associated Press reported that 41-year-old Sezanayev, who owns Rachel's Diamonds, allegedly had a scheme where he would swindle other merchants by replacing their real diamonds with a total worth of $460,000 with lab-grown duplicates.

Rodeo fan; Abilene man is long-time rodeo volunteer
For the past four decades, Sid Hammond has been a committee member with the Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo in Abilene. It was in 1985 that he began his affiliation with the rodeo. The rodeo had been produced by the fair board, but it was failing. That year, fair board member Joyce Romberger came to Hammond and another saddle club member, Bruce Kogler, asking for their help in rejuvenating it.
