Great Jungle Journey Family Camp Inaugural Week
Last week at The Great Jungle Journey Family Church Camp, great things were happening as the kids drew near to Jesus and grew in the excitement of who God is. Set in the hidden paradise beside the water at the cabin and land Ralph Carlson generously offered for the church camp, seventeen kids plus adults dug into the Bible, learned about the awesome power of God, experienced Jesus’s love in His sacrifice for them, and grew in worship and prayer together.

New venture in Topeka aims to help young people gain confidence in social skills
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A new venture in Topeka aims to help young people learn how to be good company. Capitol Cotillion will be held at The Beacon September through April, offering monthly lessons for middle school boys and girls in manners, interpersonal skills, ballroom dance and more. After being named one of four finalists for a city manager job in Manhattan, Kansas, Springfield City Manager Jason Gage has withdrawn his candidacy. Derby Man Fined for Practicing Law Without a License
A Derby man entered into a consent judgment with the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office for allegedly practicing law without a license. Court documents show that Andrew Wells met with a woman at his office in Goddard. The woman then hired him as legal representation in a dispute with the Social Security Administration. After the woman asked Wells to stop representing her, he refused to return documents she had given him. Investigators discovered that the Kansas Attorney Registration Office had never listed Andrew Wells as a licensed attorney in the state of Kansas.

Rural Development issues REAP grants
TOPEKA, Kan. — U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Kansas Rural Development Director Christy Davis announced Friday that USDA will help farmers and small businesses expand access to clean energy and lower energy bills through the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). Today, Rural Development is investing $1,789,170 in grants that will support 15 clean energy projects across Kansas.
