Blue Ridge Electric Contractor injured in workplace accident

A contractor was hospitalized after an on the job accident in Anderson County, Monday afternoon. Blue Ridge Electric says, a contractor working for them and Upcountry Fiber encountered a live electrical line while working on broadband services in the Townville community.

EMS responded to the scene and the worker was transported to Anmed Hospital to be treated. Blue Ridge released a statement Monday evening saying they are conducting an investigation into how the incident occurred. There's been no update on the contractor's condition.

This is the 2nd major workplace incident in Anderson County in less than a week after 23 year old, Tristan Stone died after being electrocuted on the job last Thursday.
