Police identify man found dead in south Wichita
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Police say they do not suspect foul play after a 44-year-old man's body was found in south Wichita on Monday. Officers responded at around 9:45 p.m. to the report of a possible dead body in the 1600 block of South Broadway, near Harry. Lt. Donald Moore said they arrived to find a man's body in an alleyway on the southeast corner of a property.

‘A threat to public safety’: 31-year-old man sentenced for torturing, dismembering cats
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH/Gray News) - A man in Kansas faces more than a decade in prison after he was convicted of torturing and dismembering cats. The Sedgwick County District’s Attorney Office said 31-year-old Logan Cavender, of Wichita, was found guilty of 10 counts of felony cruelty to animals, two counts of misdemeanor stalking and one count of misdemeanor breach of privacy.
Seven Injured in Crash in Derby
Seven people are injured following a Sunday morning car accident in Derby, KS. The accident happened around 11am yesterday when two vehicles waiting at a red light were struck from behind by a third vehicle. A total of four people were taken to nearby hospitals following the accident – two with critical injuries and two with serious injuries. No names have been released but the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that three of those hospitalized are children.

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Recruit Deputy for alleged domestic battery. On Tuesday, Haysville Police arrested 22-year-old Brandon Fox and he was booked into jail on a requested charge of Domestic Battery and Assault, according to a statement from the Sedgwick County Sheriff's office.
Teen enters plea in shooting death of Wichita boy at Towne East Square
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A teenager has pleaded no contest in the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy inside a Wichita mall in 2022. The Sedgwick County district attorney's office said 18-year-old Te'bryis Robinson on Tuesday pleaded no contest to second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and aggravated battery. He was originally charged with first-degree murder and criminal use of a weapon by a juvenile in the killing of killing of TrenJ'vious Hutton at Towne East Square on March 18, 2022.
