Good morning everyone. The Northeast continues onward for 1 more day of clouds, humidity, and warmth, before things go sunny and every comfortable for a 5 day stretch. Our cold front still needs to pass by, plus we have low pressure lagging behind up in Canada.

This will give areas of southeast New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and parts of lower New England the chance of some heavy showers and storms. In upper New England, we'll have to deal the tail end of low pressure that'll swing by a narrow line of nasty storms later today. These could be a bit on the spicy side, with damaging winds and small hail possible. After that, sunshine and 70's rule the roost through Friday.

That cold front continues to stretch back all the way through the Appalachians, Southeast, and back into Oklahoma & Texas. We'll continue to have to deal with strong to severe storms along the boundary. Areas such North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, are all in line for scattered severe weather as we get into the afternoon and evening hours.

Just like yesterday, we expect severe storms to weaken not long after sunset, but until then, look for locally damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning, torrential rain, and the chance of some isolated tornadoes. Remember, not everyone is going to see some action, but for those who do, you could see some severe thunderstorms in your area.

Elsewhere, we are watching tropical moisture brush the east and west coast of Florida with some soaking heavy showers and thunderstorms. Look for locally heavy rain and rumbles, plus some waterspout issues in near shore areas. We also have tropical moisture to deal with again along the Louisiana and Texas coast, with the same hazards as Florida. However, the action is a little bit more robust and making its way further inland.

As low pressure meanders west and into Texas, look for areas of west Texas to get in on the action in terms of some scattered heavy rain and storms. This is much needed rain as central and western Texas is experiencing a severe drought. Let's hope things pan out and they get some rain.

Here is your local NYC Metro forecast -

Clouds are here to stay today with muggy conditions and low to mid 80's. Look for scattered showers and rumbles in the area, especially to the NW of NYC.

We'll have decreasing clouds tomorrow, with lower humidity and highs 75-80. That positive mojo continues on Tuesday, with more sunshine, a nice steady breeze, and highs 75-80. Things stay about the same with 75-80 degree temps & sunshine until Friday, although you might see a slight uptick in humidity on Friday as the next front nears.

Look for extra clouds next weekend with the chance of some rain. Depending on how things go, it could be a soaking rain in the NYC area with low to mid 70's for highs.
