Good evening everyone. As expected and discussed in this morning's article, a strong gust front containing heavy showers & thunderstorms, has moved through the New York City Metro area and now impacting parts of Long Island & Connecticut.

Heavy rain, thunder, and strong winds in excess of 40mph have been reported across areas of northwest New Jersey, southeast New York, New York City, and now across the North Shore of Long Island. Speacial marine warnings have been issued for winds that can easily capsize small vessels and create sudden rough sea conditions.

We also have some heavy weather moving across Connecticut and eventually into Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Damaging winds will be the primary risk, but we could also see some small hail and frequent lightning. These storms are brief in nature, with cooler and breezy conditions behind them.

That is our cold front, and we are expecting cool to slightly mild temps tomorrow, with full sunshine and a light northwest flow. Highs should be in the upper 60's to low 70's across much of the region, with lows in higher elevations dipping into the 40's in some spots.
