Baseball (12-13) The past week spelled trouble for the Tigers, going 0-3 in a three game stretch against conference rivals who got revenge for previous meetings this year. Beating Bondurant-Farrar (18-7) by a score of 4-3 on the first week of June, the Bluejays fought back with a 7-2 win over the Tigers on June 24. Two days later, the Huskies from Winterset (10-12) cruised to a 13-5 win to avenge an 18-1 loss to the Tigers three weeks earlier. And lastly, Carlisle (8-17) notched a 2-1 victory in extras for redemption over their previous one-run loss to the Tigers.
ADM Softball Hosts Ankeny Centennial Tonight
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball team will be in Adel tonight for a non-conference game against Ankeny Centennial. The Tigers are playing with a ton of confidence at the moment as they’ve won their last nine games, preparing for postseason, which is one week out. ADM last played on Monday where they defeated Gilbert 9-5 to improve to 25-8 overall (13-2 inside Raccoon River Conference). The Jaguars is coming off a win against Fort Dodge 6-2 as they are also 25-8 on the season, atop of the Central Iowa Metropolitan League Conference.
Chargers Softball Splits Games with Des Moines Christian
The AC/GC Chargers softball team was in action Monday, and split their games against the Des Moines Christian Lions. The team took the first game 13-6, with an early lead. The Lions picked up two runs, while the Chargers tacked on eight in the first inning. AC/GC then put up another run in the second inning to go up 9-2, and both teams were scoreless in the next two innings. The Chargers picked up three more runs in the fifth, and allowed one, then tallied their final run in the sixth inning while allowing two runs for the Lions. Des Moines Christian recorded their final run in the seventh inning.

DES MOINES, IOWA – The Omaha Storm Chasers dropped a back-and-forth game to the Iowa Cubs 5-4 Thursday, Independence Day at Principal Park. As the series shifted over to Des Moines for another three-game set, the I-Cubs scored first for the fourth straight night. A single and a walk put runners on first and second base to set up another single that plated the first run off of starter Daniel Lynch IV and took a 1-0 lead in favor of Iowa.
