    PCSO releases name of juvenile who died in Ankeny crash

    ANKENY, Iowa — The juvenile who died in an Ankeny crash on Sunday has been identified as a 10-year-old from Polk City.

    At around 1:30 p.m. on July 7 the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash in the 7400 block of NW Fisher Drive. According to the sheriff’s office, the two vehicles crashed head-on, with one traveling northbound and the other southbound.

    The two occupants of the southbound vehicle were treated for minor injuries at the scene of the crash and released. The two juvenile occupants of the northbound vehicle were transported to nearby hospitals. One of the juveniles, now identified as 10-year-old Maxwell Harry Amenson of Polk City, died from his injuries at the hospital.

    The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing, the sheriff’s office said.
