UM Health-Sparrow sees Q1 decrease in drug-related deaths since 2019
LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Fewer people are dying from drugs in Michigan, according to a Q1 report by the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Forensic Pathology Services. UM Health-Sparrow released its quarter one (Q1) report on drug-related deaths in seven counties, including Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Ionia, Isabella, Livingston, and Shiawassee, in which it serves as medical examiner.

Lighting up the skies over Chelsea
The fireworks show at Robin Hills Farm was a great way to spend a summer night in Chelsea, Michigan. Lighting up the sky on June 29, the show culminated a day of fun at Robin Hills to bring a free family-friendly event with food trucks, drinks, live music, a Kid Zone, a fireworks show and more to the community. The day saw somewhere between 1,500 to 1,800 in attendance with many families taking advantage of the Kid Zone. This was the first year for this event that was a partnership with the Chelsea Rotary Club.

Video shows demolition continuing at Northville Downs clubhouse following oil spill
(CBS DETROIT) - Video shows contractors demolishing the Northville Downs clubhouse after the horse racing facility closed earlier this year. "A tall excavator with industrial shears is cutting the vertical steel beams of the Downs clubhouse and also knocking the dangling debris downward," the city of Northville said in a post on social media Monday morning. Michigan is building the nation’s first smart highway
A three-mile stretch of Interstate 94 in Michigan will be converted into America’s first smart highway. Axios reports that the Alphabet-backed startup Cavnue has started constructing the smart highway as part of a new pilot project that could spur other construction projects across the country. Another project, a "Smart Freight Corridor" on State Highway 130 by Austin, Texas, is also being developed.
