Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy Announces NFL Combine Decision

The NFL Combine is upon us beginning Monday and running through March 4. It's an opportunity for draft-eligible players to showcase their talent and skills to NFL coaches and executives.

But not all players choose to take advantage of the situation for one reason or another, and typically it's the top echelon players who feel they've displayed enough during the season and don't want to risk either injury or reducing their draft stock with a poor performance.

Michigan Wolverines quarterback J.J. McCarthy is projected to be a first-round pick in April's NFL Draft and is fresh off a national championship. He's showcased just about everything he possibly can in during the season.

However, he's made the decision to throw at the combine this week.

"Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy will throw at the Combine in front of NFL evaluators," Jordan Schultz reported on Sunday.

Ex-college standout quarterback Brady Quinn thinks McCarthy is already a top-10 pick in the draft without even showing up.

"To me, he's going to end up being a top-10 pick when it's all said and done," Quinn said on CBS Sports HQ. "I think teams are going to love his ability to create and his ability to take off and run, too."

McCarthy ended his Michigan career with a perfect 2023 season at 15-0 and a win over Washington for a national championship.
