Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy has made his home state of Louisiana a top priority on the recruiting trail.

Bellamy played big roles in helping the Wolverines land four-star wide receiver Jacob Washington and three-star running back Jasper Parker this cycle. Now, Bellamy is looking to pluck the very best talent out of the Bayou State in 2026.

Bellamy extended an offer to Top 100 Destrehan (La.) High wide receiver Jabari Mack earlier this offseason and has his attention.

“He came by the school in the winter and then I got the offer after that,” Mack said. “We’ve still been talking since then. He keeps telling me that I need to get up there for a visit. I like that he’s from here. He seems cool. He said that he really likes my game.”

Mack could soon have a teammate committed to Michigan.

After all, the Wolverines are considered the heavy leaders to land three-star 2025 Destrehan (La.) High wide receiver Phillip Wright ahead of his July 13 decision date. Mack and Wright are friends and complement each other well at the high school level.

“Phillip is a great player,” Mack said. “He’s fast. He has the speed, so teams have to keep up with him, and that lets me make some plays. It would be cool to play with him again (laughs).”

Mack is still learning more about the Michigan program, but he made it clear that he has legitimate interest early on.

“It’s good to see that they are recruiting a lot of players from The Boot,” Mack said. “I definitely like that. I was really impressed with them this season. It’s a big achievement to win the national championship. I’m blessed to have an offer from them.”

The next step for Mack is making his way to Michigan for his first-ever unofficial visit, which he hopes will take place at some point in the near future.

“I for sure want to visit,” Mack said. “I know it’s cold (laughs). I just want to tour around the campus and get to know the coaches and the people.”

Along with Michigan, Mack holds offers from Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Mississippi State, Oregon, Miami, Penn State, Texas and others.

At 6-foot, 169 pounds, Mack is ranked as the No. 10 wide receiver and No. 75 overall recruit in the country, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 6 overall recruit in the state of Louisiana for next cycle.
