In a busy recruiting day for the defending college football national champions, the Michigan Wolverines successfully flipped the commitment of four-star safety Ivan Taylor from Notre Dame.

Taylor, a 6-foot, 174-pound native of Winter Park, Florida, finished his junior year at West Orange (FL) with 50 total tackles, six tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and one interception.

He had originally verbally committed to Notre Dame on Dec. 1. Taylor scheduled three official visits in June, taking trips to Alabama, Notre Dame, and Michigan.

Taylor is the No. 41 overall prospect and No. 2 safety in the class of 2025. He ranks as the No. 1 safety and No. 5 player in Florida, according to 247Sports .

Before his decommitment, Taylor was the Fighting Irish's highest-rated defensive prospect in the program's 2025 recruiting class.

Following Taylor's commitment, Michigan's 2025 recruiting class ranks No. 11 nationally and No. 4 in the Big Ten. The Wolverines have 15 commitments in the 2025 class, headlined by four-star safety Kainoa Winston and defensive lineman Nathaniel Marshall.

Taylor's father, Ike Taylor, is a two-time Super Bowl champion, winning with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2005 and 2009.

Taylor's commitment to the Wolverines will undoubtedly add depth to Don Martindale's defense, as most of the Wolverines' starting safeties this fall are seniors or graduates.
