On Wednesday, Campbell shared a key piece of intel on junior quarterback Alex Orji, praising him for his abilities while revealing his likely role within the Wolverines' offense.

"Alex is one of the best 11 players on offense," Campbell said according to The Wolverine on X.

"He's gonna have to touch the football. We will have a plan for him to touch the football."

Last season, the Texas native Orji ran 15 times for 86 yards and a touchdown, one season after rushing for 37 yards and two touchdowns as a freshman.

Orji's passing skills remain untested in big games, but his talents are undeniable.

At 6-feet-3 inches and 236 pounds, Orji has the punishing, physical running style to become an extra running back on the field alongside returning star Donovan Edwards, the hero of Michigan's national title game victory over Washington.

Orji will face stiff competition from Jack Tuttle, Davis Warren, Jayden Denegal and others for the starting quarterback position with Michigan's August 31 opener against Fresno State on the horizon.

Whether or not he claims the position outright will be the talk of fall camp.

For now, Campbell's group is taking things day-by-day, preparing for all possible scenarios as Michigan's post-Jim Harbaugh depth chart continues to take shape.
