The NCAA is preparing to issue a Notice of Allegations against the Michigan Wolverines football program as early as Tuesday, according to Chris Balas of TheWolverine.com .

The report states that the defending national champions are expected to receive Level I violations for off-campus, in-person scouting led by former assistant Connor Stalions, and two former staffers are expected to receive Level II violations for providing impermissible benefits to Michigan players.

The Michigan-Stalions scandal took college football by storm last season and led to Stalions' resignation and the Big Ten suspending Jim Harbaugh for the final three games of the regular season.

There was no specific mention of the former head coach, now headed into his inaugural season with the Los Angeles Chargers, in the report, but that doesn't leave out the possibility of Harbaugh's name ultimately being unscathed.

The NCAA could also seek a postseason ban for up to two seasons, according to Balas. The Wolverines' national title and wins over the last three seasons, however, are reportedly safe.

This process will move slow, much like it has already, which means any ban will not likely be put in effect until 2025 at the earliest. Michigan is expected to fight back against any such ban.

The Wolverines, led by first-year head coach Sherrone Moore, are slated to begin the 2024 season at home against Fresno State on Aug. 31.
