According to On3’s Joe Tipton , 2025 Las Vegas (Nev.) Sierra Vista four-star center Xavion Staton will officially visit Michigan Sept. 21. That weekend, the football team will take on USC in its Big Ten opener, giving the basketball recruit a chance to see The Big House, the largest stadium in college football. Staton has a number of visits set:

    • Michigan: 9/21
    • Stanford: 9/28
    • USC: 10/5
    • UNLV: 10/26
    • BYU: 11/2

Michigan football began fall camp yesterday, as it looks to defend its three straight Big Ten titles and 2023 national championship. The Wolverines practiced in the morning.

The Wolverines are now under first year head coach Sherrone Moore , who said he’s sure he’ll put his own stamp on the program with some changes during camp, though the bulk of the operation has stayed the same.

“We’ll figure that out as we go through camp,” Moore said of the differences. “The different things, the different processes which we’ll attack, we’re just going to keep doing it and the hard work, the toughness we attack everything with on offense, defense, special teams, we’re gonna do. More music at practice. Coach [ Jim Harbaugh ] didn’t play music at practice, I’m guessing the Chargers are finding that out now. Everything else, there will be things here and there but most of that stuff is gonna stay the same.”

Michigan is now in the month of August, ready to be “fast, physical and violent.”

    Quote Of The Day

“We’ll control the narrative of it. Am I an aggressive play-caller? Yes, I’m an aggressive play-caller. We’ve won a lot of football games calling games aggressively, OK? When it doesn’t work, that’s when everybody says, ‘He’s blitzing too much.’ You don’t hear that at all when you win, you hear but how ‘creative’ you are. You just don’t listen to any of that. We’ll find that right mix of pressure, simulated, all the other stuff. We’ll find the right mix, and that’s what training camp is for.”

    — Michigan defensive coordinator Wink Martindale
