D.C preparing for the Fourth of July where you can find a free concert on the Capitol Grounds as well as fireworks near the Pencil and Lincoln Memorial. There will be scavenger hunts for many to enjoy as the Capitol Ground opens at 3 pm on the Fourth welcoming anyone to celebrate.
Permit Issued For $9.4 Million Addition at Elementary School
A permit has been issued to Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) for construction of a $9.4 million addition at Greencastle Elementary School in Silver Spring (Fairland). Per the MCPS Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), projections indicated enrollment at Greencastle Elementary School would exceed capacity by the end of the six-year planning period. A feasibility study was conducted to determine the cost and scope of an addition project. An FY 2023 appropriation was approved to begin the architectural design for an addition project at this school. An FY2024 appropriation was approved for construction funds.
