In New York State, March 31 is celebrating the Transgender Day of Visibility. The proclamation recognizes the state’s “rich history of transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary leaders who worked tirelessly to protect and celebrate gender diversity through their visibility.”

Governor Hochul stated that the day marks the many contributions made by members of the trans community.

“I am proud of the strength transgender New Yorkers display every day and want to make one thing clear: You are always welcome in New York. You are loved,” said Hochul.

    The proclamation is available here.
