Bennifer Ends: JLo Files for Divorce

It's official: after a little more than two years of marriage, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are splitting. Variety confirmed that Lopez filed for divorce in the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. April 26, 2024, is listed as the date of the official split.

After reigniting their relationship from two decades earlier, Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52 were married in July 2022 in Las Vegas. Two years ago, on August 20, 2022, the couple married again with a lavish celebration held in Georgia. JLo picked the same date to file for divorce two years later.

The pair starred in two films together: Martin Brest’s box office flop, “Gigli” in 2003 and Kevin Smith’s comedy “Jersey Girl” in 2004. By the time "Jersey Girl" was in theaters, the pair had broken their engagement.

In the years that followed, Lopez wed Marc Anthony and Affleck wed Jennifer Garner. Both marriages ended in divorce. The pair reconnected and began dating about three years ago.

Affleck and Lopez walked the red carpets for each other's films, including "This Is Me... Now: A Love Story," "The Mother," "Air," "The Last Duel," and "Marry Me," frequently during their second relationship and marriage. Earlier this year, the couple attended the Golden Globes together.

Jennifer Lopez announced in May that she was canceling her summer "This Is Me... Now" tour, saying that she was "taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends."
