Beyond The Call Stops in London
The London Police Department was honored recently to host Beyond the Call of Duty on their journey across the Nation. Their mission is to honor the lives of the men and women of law enforcement who made the ultimate sacrifice. This year, the organization will be traveling 22,500 over 73 days, honoring 259 officers from 234 different department by escorting their memorial trailer to each of these locations. While stopping in London, Beyond the Call of Duty honored Lt. Travis Hurley and Sgt. Logan Medlock who made the ultimate sacrifice for our community. Public Information Officer Hobie Daugherty said they strive to make sure that their name and legacy will never be forgotten and it makes them proud to know that they are not alone in that effort.

London PD National Night Out Event Coming August 6th
The London Police Department will host this year’s National Night Out event August 6th at the Wellness Park behind the Laurel County Public Library from 6:00-8:00 pm. Public Information Officer Hobie Daugherty says this is a free national event hosted by local police agencies across the nation to get the community together and promote a positive relationship between the Police and their community. He said they’re excited to have another opportunity to meet with citizens and talk with them in a relaxed setting. Families are encouraged to bring the kids out to meet representatives from the London Police Department, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, London City Fire Department and other first responders.
