Several trees and branches came down during storms on Wednesday in Stratford and the mayor’s office said a microburst appears to have caused the damage. The festivities began at noon, with the Civil Air Patrol— Suwannee River Composite Squadron raising the American flag at the center of the Greenway to kick off the opening ceremony. The ceremony also marked the official opening of vendor booths, allowing attendees to visit local candidates and browse through a variety of handmade goods. Among the many activities individuals enjoyed were the Third Annual Cornhole Tournament and Rod Run, watermelon eating and seed spitting contests, the Bedrock De.
