DinoLand U.S.A. Re-Theme Unveiled: Disney's Tropical Americas Coming Fall 2027

It had been expected for some time, though its arrival caught us off guard sooner than we had foreseen. Despite the upcoming introduction of a fresh realm boasting new attractions and dining options, bidding farewell to DinoLand, U.S.A. is a prospect we are not quite prepared to embrace just yet.

During the D23 event held last year, it was disclosed that Disney was exploring the idea of adopting a Tropical Americas theme, which could incorporate elements from movies like Encanto and Indiana Jones. This plan was subsequently reaffirmed during an event by Imagineering. It has now been revealed when this transition is set to commence.

Commencing this fall, construction is set to commence on an 11-acre portion of Animal Kingdom, marking the transformation of DinoLand, U.S.A. This development will unfold in stages, ensuring that visitors will have the opportunity to experience the popular attraction DINOSAUR one last time before its temporary closure.

The forthcoming section of the park, Tropical Americas, is scheduled to debut in the year 2027. Disney recently unveiled plans for this addition, announcing that it will encompass a pseudo-town known as Pueblo Esperanza. Much like other themed areas within the park, such as Harambe Village in Africa and Anandapur in Asia, the ambiance of this new region aims to convey a sense of authenticity and history.

The upcoming land will showcase two distinct attractions, one of which is a fresh Indiana Jones-themed ride set to replace the current DINOSAUR experience. This new ride will present a unique narrative separate from that found at Disneyland Park and will transport guests into the heart of a captivating Mayan temple.

Furthermore, there is an upcoming attraction inspired by Encanto in development. This ride is designed as a journey inside the Casita, providing guests with the opportunity to interact with various beloved characters from the movie. The anticipation for this experience is truly remarkable!
