Antigo Public Library to host author reading and book signing

ANTIGO — The Antigo Public Library will be hosting a local Writers’ Showcase featuring five local authors Saturday, April 13 from 12 to 2 p.m. in the library meeting room.

The event will feature five local authors, each of whom will read from their work, answer questions, and sign books for those interested in purchasing copies.

Antigo Librarian Services Manager Samantha Ryan recommended community members attend because of the literary range of the featured authors.

“There are a variety of authors that will be in attendance and a little something for everyone to enjoy, including a young adult author, fantasy author, Christian fiction author, poetry author, and a children’s author. They are all local authors as well, from Antigo or the Antigo area,” Ryan said.

Featured authors include Amy Quig, author of Goodnight Silly Squirrels, Sophia Wachtel, author of Feather Sky (Young Adult), Jennifer Jackson, author of Domestic Bodies (poetry), Cheryl Gerou, author of Treasures of Darkness (Christian), and S.L. Wilton, author of Queen of Crows (fantasy).

Nonfiction author Scott Roux, who originally planned to participate in the reading, was forced to cancel his appearance due to a schedule conflict, but copies of his book “Everything Has Meaning” will be available for purchase at the event.

A portion of all proceeds from the event, which will include refreshments for attendees, will benefit the Friends of the Antigo Public Library.
