WAUSAU – Due to a weather forecast for Thursday night that includes the possibility of rain and storms, several local fireworks displays have been canceled for July 4. Here is more information:
Antigo
Due to the unpredictable weather forecast, the city of Antigo has canceled its fireworks for tonight. According to the Langlade County Economic Development Corp. Facebook page , the fireworks will be rescheduled.
As of Thursday morning, the Antigo Fourth of July parade was still scheduled to take place at 7 p.m., starting at Clermont Street and heading down 10th Avenue to the high school.
Wausau
Wausau Events announced Thursday morning that its fireworks show originally scheduled for July 4 has been rescheduled due to weather. The fireworks show has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 6.
All other details of the event will remain the same. Gates will open to the public at 7 p.m. at Emerson Street and Elmwood Boulevard, and the fireworks show is expected to begin around 9:15 p.m. at the Wausau Downtown Airport.
Parking will be available on surrounding city streets. Carry-ins are allowed, but no weapons, large tents, tables or tarps will be permitted. Trash cans and bathrooms will be available. There will be no food vendors or beverages on-site. The fireworks show is free to attend, but donations for the 2025 show are encouraged.
