    Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office releases name of teen drowning victim

    APPANOOSE COUNTY, Iowa — The Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the teen who drowned at Rathbun Lake on Wednesday.

    At around 6:13 p.m. Wednesday the sheriff’s office responded to a report of a 17-year-old swimmer who went underwater but didn’t resurface near the Buck Creek swimming area. The Appanoose County Water Rescue team was deployed and at about 7:33 p.m. they recovered the teen’s body.

    Stabbing victim dropped off at Des Moines hospital, DMPD investigating

    On Thursday the sheriff’s office identified the teen as Ayden J. Beeson from Centerville. The sheriff’s office said Ayden was a 2024 Centerville High School graduate.

    An investigation into this incident is ongoing the sheriff’s office said.
