A 20-year-old Apple Creek man died following a Monday evening in a collision on County Road 192 in Prairie Township.

Kendrick Miller, who was a front-seat passenger in a Chevrolet Trailblazer, suffered severe injuries and was transported by medical helicopter to Akron City Hospital where he died Tuesday, according to a news release from the Wooster Post of the State Highway Patrol.

The Trailblazer was being driven south on County Road 192 by a 23-year-old Fredericksburg man when it went off of the right side of the road as it crested a hill, according to the release. The vehicle was over-corrected and went off of the left side of the road and struck an embankment and tree and then overturned multiple times.

The driver, who was transported to Wooster Community Hospital for minor injuries, and Miller were ejected from the vehicle, according to the release, which notes the back-seat passenger, a 19-year-old Holmesville man, was treated at the scene and released.

The patrol was assisted by Fredericksburg EMS, Prairie Township Fire Department and Star American Towing.

    The crash remains under investigation.
