Apple Springs, Chester set to battle in District 12-1A D1
APPLE SPRINGS, Texas (KTRE) - The Apple Springs Eagles move up from 1A division two into 1A division one, which puts them in a district with East Texas foe Chester. The Eagles finished last season with a 4-7 record and made it to the bi-district round of the playoffs. Coach Cody Moore’s biggest concern is the QB position. The Eagles will have to replace a four-year starter at the position. Noah Thompson returns this season after being named district defensive MVP last season when he compiled 112 tackles. Zeth Dugat was named district Newcomer of the Year in 2023 and was the teams leading rusher while scoring 16 touchdowns. Bradyn Kaufman was a two-way starter as a sophomore and should be a tremendous asset at both fullback and middle linebacker.
