A TikTok video recently went viral of a woman complaining about a 10-cent bag fee on her Chic-fil-A order. She was outraged and threatened Chic-fil-a: "Count your days." However, it wasn't Chic-fil-a's fault she got the bag upcharge, it's local law in her town. It went into effect this past January but I suppose this is the first time she noticed.

Lighted “Welcome To Lufkin” Signs End Up In Landfill
In 2012 after a bond issue in 2010, the City of Lufkin awarded the sole bidder "Signs By Debbie" $149,400 to make six large lighted signs that resembled a cut-down tree. These were to make people aware that they were in Lufkin and were "welcome". According to a Lufkin Daily News article from November 22, 2011, then-City Manager Paul Parker said the signs would last 20 years.

The Lady Jackets had a full week of volleyball starting with a tri-scrimmage in Diboll on Tuesday August 13. They faced East Chambers first losing the first set 23-25, winning the second set 25-18, and then losing the third set 13-15. The Lady Jackets then beat Diboll in a two-set sweep 25-15, 25-19. Lily Read led in kills with 13, Marae Pounds had six, Lauren Citrano and Josie Pecina each had three. Lily Payne led with two serving aces. Payne also led blocks with three. Sydney Brock led defense with 20 digs and 18 service receptions, Kyli Handley had five digs. Emma Byrd had 24 assists.

A Houston mother is facing charges after allegedly leaving her three children unattended at a busy intersection for over an hour while she shopped nearby. On Aug. 24, Charoc Judit Morales Galvez allegedly left her three children, ages 9, 11, and 15, alone at the intersection of 4500 Airline Dr. and 4500 North Freeway in Houston.
