GRANDVIEW, Wash. — Yakima Valley College has been teaching the next generation of winemakers for decades, but on Friday night, anyone can get a behind-the-scenes peek at their program in Grandview.

The free Teach, Tour and Taste event is open to the public and includes a tour of the facility in English or Spanish, where students in the program will be able to share what they’ve learned about the winemaking process.

“This is a really great event for anybody who has an interest in wine or maybe is working in the industry to come on out and see what we have to offer at our wine program at Yakima Valley College,” said Dustin Wunderlich with Yakima Valley College.

Wunderlich said the tour is free, but for a fee, visitors can also do a tasting or purchase bottles of wine made by the students.

The event is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Yakima Valley Vintners , located at 110 Grandridge Road in Grandview.
