Expect clear skies and warm, dry conditions through Saturday, thanks to high pressure building over the Pacific Northwest. Temperatures will continue to rise, with afternoon highs reaching the 90s in lower elevations by Saturday. In the mountains and higher valleys, expect upper 70s to 80s.

There's also an increased fire risk on Saturday, especially in central Oregon, as warm, dry weather combined with some instability could lead to fire growth if any new fires start. Stay cautious if you're in that area!

    Long-Term Forecast (Sunday - Thursday)

As the upper ridge weakens, a weather system will move into the Pacific Northwest from Sunday through Tuesday night, bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Sunday will still be hot, with temperatures mostly in the 90s, but some spots like the eastern Columbia River Gorge and John Day Valley could reach over 100°F.

On Labor Day (Monday) and into Tuesday , the main concern will be showers and isolated thunderstorms, especially in eastern Oregon and southeast Washington. There's a decent chance (50-70%) of thunderstorms, so be prepared for possible unstable weather. Breezy winds will also pick up, especially through the Cascade gaps and areas like the Yakima Valley.
