Struggling swimmer airlifted after incident at Sand Hollow State Park
ST. GEORGE — A man was airlifted after struggling to keep his head above water at Sand Hollow State Park Sunday evening. At approximately 5 p.m., a man in his 20s was swimming in the Sand Hollow Reservoir and began to struggle, Devan Chavez, a spokesman for the Utah Division of State Parks, told St. George News. He was spotted by a group in a boat, whose occupants pulled him onboard and called for help before taking him to the boat ramp.

ST. GEORGE — Police say a driver who failed to yield on a left turn caused another vehicle to narrowly miss hitting a house Tuesday morning. Tiffany Mitchell, public information officer for the St. George Police Department, told St. George News the incident occurred at 6:50 a.m. when a 2010 Subaru Outback traveling on Valley View Drive from 450 North failed to yield to a 2014 Nissan Altima, causing that vehicle to end up in the home’s yard.
