Prince William supervisors approve home-based gun shop near Nokesville
The Prince William County Board of County Supervisors approved a special use permit for a home gun manufacturing and selling business near Nokesville on Tuesday. The permit allows for the continuation of an existing business, Mystikos Armament, which changed locations following the owner’s move to a 1.6-acre plot of land in the Brentsville District. The business, owned by Nokesville resident Neal Roddy, was recommended for approval two years ago by the county Planning Commission under a different address.
Major Repairs to Begin at Learning Lane, Access to Walker-Grant Middle School and Lafayette Elementary School will be Impacted
(Fredericksburg, VA) July 17, 2024 – The City of Fredericksburg has had an active project to replace failing culvert stormwater pipes under Learning Lane near the intersection of Emancipation Highway (US 1) for several years. The embankment adjacent to the storm pipes of Learning Lane is compromised due to the failing pipes, and this critical work must occur now which will impact school and community traffic patterns adjacent to Lafayette Elementary School and Walker-Grant Middle School. This work will inconvenience everyone who accesses both public schools, as well as those neighborhoods along the detour route between the schools and Lafayette Boulevard.
U.S. Civil Rights Trail unveils new historical markers in Fredericksburg

They tell the stories of some of the first Black women to attend the university, including the “Big Five” — a group of Black female students from the 1960s.
