Jackson Albertsons on list for sale in grocery chain merger
JACKSON, Wyo. — The Jackson Albertsons on Buffalo Way is on the list of grocery stores to be sold in the purchase of the grocery chain by supermarket giant Kroger. The merger, first announced in 2022, would see the Cincinnati, OH-based Kroger buy the Boise, Idaho-based Albertsons, consolidating two of the nation’s largest grocery chains. Kroger is currently the second largest grocery company by revenue behind Walmart, bringing in $148 billion in FY 2023. Albertsons’ bringing’ revenue that year was $77.7 billion.
