City reopens southern Kiwanis Community Park
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The southern portion of Kiwanis Community Park, located off East Pershing Boulevard, has reopened following a seasonal closure for wildlife protection. The affected area contains a large pond that provides valuable habitat for many species of wildlife and is especially important to many species of waterfowl. Spring through early summer is a critical time of year for these species as they are nesting and raising their young. Disturbances during this time can cause them to abandon their nests or cause stress to young birds that cannot fly.

Gillette City Council approves appointments for 2 Municipal Court judges
GILLETTE, Wyo. — On Tuesday, the Gillette City Council approved the appointment of two part-time municipal court judges. Following a July 16 decision by the council, Alison O. Gee and Christopher R. Wyoming Little League District Tournament Scoreboard: July 15-20, 2024
The Wyoming Little League District No. 2 District Tournament is in Laramie from July 15-20, 2024. There are two divisions with Majors and Minors. The Majors is a seven-team, double-elimination bracket, and the Minors is a six-team, double-elimination bracket. The top two teams in each division will advance to the Wyoming Little League State Tournament in Douglas on July 24-27, 2024. All games are at the Laramie Youth Baseball Complex on Armory Road.

Laramie Police Department Announces Night Out Event
The Laramie Police Department will hold its National Night Out event on August 6 at Kiwanis Park. That's according to a post on the agency's Facebook page.
