City Of Arcadia’s New 24/7 Fitness Center Scheduled To Open Next Week
The City of Arcadia will soon be opening a new amenity for community residents, who will no longer have to drive to another town for a workout. Tip Top Fitness is the city’s newest gym located in the old city hall building, named after Arcadia’s original name, “Tip Top,” for its location on the Missouri-Mississippi Divide, topographically being the most elevated town in Iowa. City Clerk Julie Schroeder says the city owns and operates the new gym, but the idea came from listening to Arcadia residents.

Fencing Materials Ordinance And Parking Lot Resurfacing On Carroll City Council’s Agenda For Monday
The Carroll City Council has a routine agenda for its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday evening. The council convenes at 5:15 p.m. at Carroll City Hall. Their first item of business will be to consider the second reading of a zoning change in the Highland Park Addition for a private housing project. City officials will also consider the first reading of a new ordinance outlining acceptable building materials for permanent fencing in town. The topic was first introduced during the June 24 meeting after staff received multiple complaints about pallet fences, but it was tabled after the council wanted more specific language about what will and will not be allowed. Other items on Monday’s agenda include setting a public hearing date on a proposed development agreement with Ziegler Caterpillar for their planned site on the west side of Carroll and a cost estimate for resurfacing the Great Western parking lot near downtown. The meeting on Monday, July 8, is open to the public and will be live-streamed via the city’s YouTube channel.
