The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau Performing Arts Center will take a break from a full schedule of hosting external performances. Mississippi Sippin concert a success
The Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) in Winona held its first concert in the 2024 Mississippi Sippin Series on Thursday, June 27. The Mike Munson Trio was the featured music group, and the group played a live set outdoors along the riverwalk. With over 250 people in attendance, the light rain did not stop the attendees from enjoying the concert and the view of the Mississippi River.
New, juried art show open for entries through July 15
Watershed, a new, juried visual art exhibition sponsored by River Arts Alliance (RAA), is currently open for submissions from artists living within 150 miles of Winona, Minnesota. Entries may be submitted online at watershedraa2024.artcall.org until 11:59 pm on Monday, July 15, 2024. Artworks selected for inclusion by the juror will be exhibited at the Winona County History Center’s Slaggie Family Lobby Art Gallery from August 23 through November 17, 2024.
Laureate Writers Series Presents Patrick Cabello Hansel
Blue Heron Coffeehouse | 162 W 2nd St. Patrick Cabello Hansel will be the featured writer for the Laureates Writers Series program for Tuesday, July 2. As an artist Hansel has worked in photography, drama, mosaic, and creative writing. For many years he also worked as Lutheran pastor and artist at inner city churches in the Bronx and Philadelphia. He currently lives close to the George Floyd murder scene, and uses his passion for the arts for personal and community transformation.
