One dead in head-on crash near Arcadia

ARCADIA — A head-on crash caused one fatality near Arcadia early Tuesday, according to the Trempealeau County Sheriff's Office.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at 1:26 a.m. on Highway 93, near Loesel Lane in the town of Arcadia, according to a press release.

The initial investigation indicates the northbound vehicle collided head-on with a southbound vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle was later pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the northbound vehicle was brought to an area hospital.

No identities or descriptions of the vehicles were included in the press release. The crash remains under investigation. The Arcadia Fire Department, Arcadia Ambulance and Mayo One Helicopter assisted at the scene.
