After years of negotiations, Oregon’s Occupational Safety and Health Division, or Oregon OSHA, released a set of proposed changes to tighten health and safety standards in farmworker housing. Some farmworker advocacy groups say the proposed changes fall short of what they were asking for. At the same time, groups representing farm owners say the rules […]

Libertarian candidates will appear on Oregon ballots in November, despite efforts from the state Republican party to disqualify Libertarians it feared would take votes from GOP candidates. State election officials have confirmed that seven Libertarian candidates for Congress and legislative races are qualified to run, despite correspondence the Secretary of State’s Office received from an attorney for the Oregon Republican Party and a past Libertarian Party of Oregon leader urging officials to reject Libertarian nominees. ...

Portland Trail Blazers’ Offseason Oversight: No Three-Point Help
The Portland Trail Blazers ended the 2023-24 season tied for the third-worst NBA record at 21-61, primarily due to a young roster and various injuries. A significant problem they failed to tackle in the offseason is their three-point shooting, finishing last in the league at 34.5%. With the departure of Malcolm Brogdon, their most efficient shooter, the Blazers’ struggle to enhance floor spacing remains evident. However, the addition of Deni Avdija, who improved his three-point accuracy to 37.4%, may partially offset this loss. The team's focus on player development aligns with their strategy to secure a top draft pick in 2025.

We haven't fiished with Summer yet, and predictions are already in for Winter. Winter isn't my favorite season, which is why this Minnesota gal moved to the West coast. Personally, Fall is my favorite, followed by Spring, Summer, and THEN, Winter. As a young child, when the first snow fell, we prayed there would be enough for sledding. Of course, in Minnesota, sometimes snow arrived as early as Halloween. What a joy that was!
