When Led Zeppelin came to Pittsburgh in 1970, fans went so wild that police rushed into the crowd. Three years and a huge increase in fame later, the band was back in town, playing to a crowd of 40,000 at Three Rivers Stadium on July 24, 1973. Latrobe man alleges packing firm wrongly fired him after he reported safety issues
A Latrobe man claimed in a federal lawsuit filed this week he was improperly fired from a packaging manufacturer as retaliation after reporting suspected safety issues. Patrick Mitchell, in a six-count complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh, said he became ill while working at Opco Inc., a Latrobe-based producer of foam and insulation products, and was fired after 14 months on the job because of his disability that resulted from a suspected cancer diagnosis.
McKees Rocks Man Sentenced to Over 4 Years for Federal Firearm Law Violation
A McKees Rocks man has been handed a 51-month prison sentence for violating federal firearm laws, announced United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan. Darnell Maurice Manson, 23, was sentenced on July 23rd by United States District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand, following a guilty plea for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Following his prison term, Manson will be under three years of supervised release, as detailed in a press release obtained by the Department of Justice.
