Sioux Falls was eliminated from the Little League World Series after a 6-3 loss to New York Saturday. The Staten Island based little league team exploded in the bottom of the fourth inning to take an insurmountable lead.

The game Saturday was do-or-die and with the loss South Dakota’s run came to an end.

Sioux Falls scored the first run of the game in the top of the fourth inning. Kinnick Noble crossed the plate on a wild pitch.

In the bottom of the fourth New York caught fire at the plate. After Staten Island scored on a close call at home plate, the flood gates opened. New York tallied three more runs to take a 4-1 lead heading into the fifth. Staten Island went 9-for-12 from the plate in their second time through the order and scored four runs.

Sioux Falls scored again in the top of the fifth on an RBI single from Sam Wurth to cut the deficit to two, but New York quickly responded, scoring another two runs in the bottom of the fifth to put the game away.

South Dakota totaled only three hits, while New York had 11.
