JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ) The demolition of the former Jefferson City News Tribune building at 210 Monroe Street is complete. Jefferson City announced the demolition’s completion Friday on its Facebook page. Crews began tearing down the building in May. The U.S. economy grew at a 2.8% annual rate in the second quarter, outpacing expectations. The gross domestic product snapshot published Thursday showed second-quarter economic expansion doubled the first quarter's 1.4% rate. SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. — An owner of Chic's N Dix HonkyTonk & Saloon unexpectedly passed away at the establishment Wednesday afternoon. Sunrise Beach police officers responded to a medical call at 3:33 p.m., July 24, and found 56-year-old Rick Griffin unconscious inside the building. Unfortunately, he died on scene. The department does not suspect foul play.

By an overwhelming majority, editorial staffers at KCUR have agreed to unionize and join the Communication Workers of America. More than 30 of the 39 eligible employees voted in favor of unionization.
