‘Hang On For One Second’: Bannon Stops Live Interview With Kari Lake to Take a Call From Trump

Steve Bannon interrupted his live interview Monday with Kari Lake to take a call from former President Donald Trump – his former boss when he worked in the White House.

Bannon has long had close ties to Trump, despite Trump firing Bannon early on in his presidency. Their close relationship was on stark display during the most recent episode of Bannon’s far-right, conspiratorial War Room podcast.

“Kari, hang on for one second, I got somebody — I’ve got a call I got to take,” Bannon said interrupting the election-denying GOP senate candidate from Arizona.

“Hey, Mr. President, I’m live on TV,” Bannon said to Trump. “Ok, I’ll call you back, sir. Thank you.”

Lake then said she would have happily given up her segment for Trump, but Bannon joked he wouldn’t do that to her as she is “adamant” about getting her time.

“Don’t get between Kari Lake and a microphone,” Bannon jested.

Over the weekend, Bannon spoke at a Turning Point USA event in Detroit and vowed if Trump is reelected MAGA will use the power of government to go after federal prosecutors.

“We’re coming after Lisa Monaco, Merrick Garland, the senior members of DOJ that are prosecuting President Trump,” Bannon told the cheering crowd.

“Jack Smith. And this is not about vengeance. This is not about revenge. This is not about retribution. This is about saving this republic! We’re gonna use the Constitution and the rule of law to go after you and hold you accountable,” he raged.

Bannon fired up the crowd during his barn burner of a speech with incendiary rhetoric, declaring, “Are you prepared to fight? Are you prepared to give it all? Are you prepared to leave it all on the battlefield?”

“Ladies and gentlemen, it’s very simple, victory or death,” declared the podcaster.
