Mass. high school gets some of athletic equipment returned after ‘misunderstanding’
A Massachusetts high school has begun to get some of its athletic uniforms and equipment back after police said it was stolen during an alumni event. A “significant quantity of sports equipment‚” was stolen from the old Stoneham High School’s Athletic Training Room, located at 149 Franklin St., during an alumni event hosted at the school on Tuesday, according to the Stoneham Police Department.

Milton High School students advocate for stricter alcohol policies at Mass State House. Two Milton High students joined others from across Massachusetts to testify at the State House in front of the Joint Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure. This committee oversees alcohol policy and these young people were sharing their thoughts about the impact of alcohol on their communities. Maya Sekhar and Melina Zullas had strong messages for the policy makers in the room as well as their colleagues. “Youth using alcohol in parks has caused growing safety issues including property damage, fights and assaults,” shared Ms. Sekhar.

2024 school retirees recognized
TEWKSBURY — The Tewksbury School Committee met on May 22, 2024 at Tewksbury Memorial High School. The meeting kicked off with recognition of school district retirees. According to Superintendent Brenda Theriault-Regan, the retirees have a total of “over 200 years of service in education to thousands of Tewksbury students.”
Malden High Golden Tornado Baseball Team honors trio of captains on Senior Night
Four-year varsity players Ryan Coggswell, Ezechiel ‘Zeke’ Noelsaint and Jake Simpson in spotlight. The Malden High School Golden Tornado Baseball Team had its best season in 30 years this past spring, finishing at 16-5 overall, including a solid second-place finish in the Greater Boston League at 10-4, just behind GBL Champ Somerville, with the Highlanders coming in at 12-2 GBL. Major contributors to the team’s success this season were its three senior captains: Ryan Coggswell, Ezechiel “Zeke” Noelsaint and Jake Simpson.
