Ingrid Andress has apologized for her rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner" before MLB's Home Run Derby in Arlington, Texas. She explained that she was drunk during the performance and will go to rehab to address the situation.

Although Andress is a four-time Grammy-nominated country artist, it appeared something was amiss when she began singing the United States national anthem. Despite the anthem sounding less than optimal, Andress continued to power through, as the crowd and players became slightly unnerved.

Almost immediately after she concluded, fans went on social media to lambast her attempt at the anthem. On Tuesday, the 32-year-old explained why her attempt at the "Star Spangled Banner" went awry.

"I'm not gonna ------- y'all, I was drunk last night," Andress wrote on social media. "I'm checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night.

"I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I'll let y'all know how rehab is I hear it's super fun. xo Ingrid."

On social media, many likened Andress' rendition to Black Eyed Peas member Fergie's attempt to differentiate herself from the rest of the signers who have done so in the past. Fergie's rendition took place before the 2018 NBA All-Star Game and accompanied by just a single acoustic guitar, she attempted to be different .

Many celebrities at the All-Star Game couldn't contain their emotions , with stars like Stephen Curry and Draymond Green openly laughing as Fergie belted out the national anthem. In that same vein, MLB stars were also spotted having difficulty attempting to hold their composure.

Philadelphia Phillies star Alec Bohm was spotted by cameras looking around and smiling as Andress continued to power through the anthem. Other superstars were able to compose themselves, though it was clear that Andress' attempt had the players battling hard to keep themselves from laughing.

After listening to the anthem, many couldn't blame Bohm for how he reacted, especially with the eyes of the country watching the display unfold.

But the explanation from Andress has cast the situation in a new light, bringing to the forefront concerns about her health and struggles with addiction.

After she updated fans on her situation, most people on social media changed tune, expressing worry for the musical artist, who has a song titled "Wishful Drinking" from 2021. Andress, 32, has delivered multiple songs that have appeared on the Billboard Hot 100. However, it seems she's been dealing with personal issues that she'll handle behind the scenes before resuming her music career.
