For Greg Davis, a master plumber with more than 35 years in the field, it’s a natural fit to bring his hands-on knowledge to the classroom as an instructor for Ozark Tech’s new Plumbing Technology Program. The southwest Missouri native not only knows the ins and outs of the trade, he knows the opportunities the plumbing industry offers and what it can mean to someone willing to learn and apply those skills. It is that understanding and passion for the field that he’s looking forward to sharing with students when the first classes begin on August 19.

Keystone Construction to Build Huge Sports Complex in Chesterfield, Mo.

Keystone Construction Company, in tandem with architect Gray Design Group and civil engineer Stock & Associates, have been selected to build a $60 million sports complex just west of St. Louis, Mo. that is said to be one of the biggest in the Midwest. Medical experts say nearly 40 million adults in America have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. The majority of those, more than 30 million people, use a CPAP machine while sleeping. The drawbacks are machines are often expensive and uncomfortable.

The Royals announced the signing of sixth overall pick Jac Caglianone. Bonus terms were not disclosed. The selection comes with a slot value of roughly $7.21M. Caglianone is a two-way player from the University of Florida. His higher upside professionally is as a position player. Caglianone topped 30 home runs in each of his final two seasons in Gainesville. He hit 35 longballs — second among Division I hitters behind No. 3 pick Charlie Condon’s 37 — with a .419/.544/.875 slash line as a junior. Caglianone walked at an 18.4 percent clip while striking out only 8.2 percent of the time. He has top-of-the-scale raw power that gives him the chance to hit in the middle of a lineup.
