Not guilty pleas entered in double murder case
Two Perry County residents who have been charged in connection with a recent double murder pleaded not guilty to the charges July 16. In a hearing before Perry District Judge Cody Goehring, attorneys for Treston Combs, 20, of Hardburly Road, Bulan, and Emmaleigh Collins, 19, of Kenmont Road, Jeff, entered not guilty pleas on their clients' behalf.
Hazard man charged with child endangerment
A Hazard man was cited on a charge of child endangerment after, police said, a young child was discovered walking in the middle of East Main Street. According to an arrest citation written by Hazard Police Officer Daniel Miller, on July 7, HPD received a call of a small child walking alone in the middle of East Main Street.
Chicago woman pleads guilty to distributing pills which were bound for Perry County
An Illinois woman has pleaded guilty in federal court to her role in distributing controlled substances in Perry County. According to court documents, on July 12, Judith Harskey, of Taylor Street, Chicago, pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Hanly A. Ingram to a charge of conspiracy to distribute oxycodone and methadone.
